New release
OmniRig is now fully functional, offering the possibility to control up to 6 radio devices simultaneously.
A WJST problem has been fixed. Before, if you operated in FT4 mode, an incorrect mode (MFSK) was sent to EasyLog. Now the problem has been bypassed and the imported real-time QSOs (in FT4 and other modes) are correctly assigned.
OmniRig installation
The new OmniRig support allows EasyLog to have two additional interfaces to radio equipment. From this release you can control up to 6 radio devices.
To exploit the interfaces via OmniRig, it is necessary to download and install OmniRig on your PC. The site from which you can download the latest version of OmniRig is the following: http://dxatlas.com/omnirig
After installing it on the PC, launch it and configure the radio model that has to be connected, the communication parameters, port, speed etc.
Installation of EasyLog 2019
Install the latest EasyLog release (1.0.3). From the tab of the general menu, it will be possible to select the active radio, taking into account that the first two radios (1 and 2) are directly controlled by EasyLog that uses the settings reported in the .rig files (found in C:\EL5\RADIO). The two other radios (3 and 4) use DLLs. The support via interfaces 3 and 4 is more efficient than the support of the interfaces 1 and 2.
The new interfaces 5 and 6 use OmniRig (which obviously needs to be installed and configured). The communication performance via OmniRig is even better than interfaces 3 and 4.
The figure shows the 4 radio interfaces (Radio 3,4 and 5,6).
Important
By pressing on the numbered touch button, located in the radio panel, in the top left corner, you can reduce the size of the interface. It can be useful if, for example, you want to use only one interface (for example, the first of OmniRig, i.e. Radio 5).
The settings will be saved on disk, re-entering EasyLog. The hidden interfaces will remain hidden, and the visible ones will remain as they were, until their size is changed (can be done by simply clicking on the red button with the interface number).
On the left of the interfaces, there is a group of radio-buttons (the circular ones, followed by a number) that identify which one of the radios is active, that is the radio that will receive and send data from/to EasyLog. To change the active radio, simply select another radio from the active one. The same can be done by pressing the Radio button located at the bottom of the main window. A window will appear, and from that you can change the active radio. Its functionality is identical to the one described (group on the left of the radio interfaces). The button has been left only for it to be compatibile with the previous versions.
The figure shows Radio 1 and 2, which can be displayed by pressing the corresponding button with the radio image (in the "Radio Default" panel at the top left of the radio interfaces 3,4,5,6).
Radio 1 and 2 settings
To set the interfaces 1 and 2, it is necessary to press the button with the image of the radio, placed on the left of the "Radio-button" that shows the numbers 1 and 2. By clicking on the image button, the Radio 1 or 2 interface will appear.
Radio settings 3 and 4
To set these interfaces, press the "Setup" button inside the graphic interface.
Radio settings 5 and 6 (OmniRig)
The settings for radios 5 and 6 should only be made from the OmniRig interface, which can be launched from the Windows menu, or simply brought to the foreground when EasyLog is running.
Using OmniRig interface and other interfaces (Radio 1, 2, 3, 4)
First, the active radio must be selected from the "Radio Default" group; the radios managed by OmniRig are only the 5 and 6.
Assuming you select the 5, OmniRig must have the correct settings for the radio to connect to EasyLog.
If everything is correct, EasyLog goes online immediately, and can send and receive frequency, modes, split from the radio.
