FT8 Running manual
Starting with EasyLog 2022 release 1.0.6, a new and very advanced FT8/FT4 QSO support is included.
Starting with EasyLog version 2022, release 1.0.6 in November 2022, a new interface window to FT8 and FT4 modes is available using the public domain software JTDX.
The window is divided into two sections, the one on the left shows the stations listened to by the radio on the active FT8/FT4 frequency, the right part of the window shows the details for the selected station.
The callsigns shown on the left-hand side are only those in CQ status, i.e. those stations that are making a CQ call on the radio's active frequency.
For each received callsign, EasyLog checks in DXCC and WAZ if it is an important QSO to make, for progressing in the mixed, mode (digital) and band.
To connect the concerned callsign, simply click on the left side of the corresponding line: the data of the callsign will be copied to the right side and the details will be shown (country, zone, details for DXCC and WAZ).
To make the QSO, click on the orange 'Start QSO' button.
From now on, the QSO management switches to JTDX, at the end of which the QSO entry window (in EasyLog) will appear, where you can add some notes or change some fields. Saving the QSO will update the related diplomas.

In order to use the new 'FT8 Machine' i.e. the new FT8 interface with JTDX, it is necessary to
- have installed JTDX
- have configured JTDX (see below for configuration)
- have tried to make at least one QSO in JTDX (to ensure that everything works correctly)
- set an option in EasyLog (see below)
EasyLog settings
With the settings enabled so far, it is possible to make QSOs from EasyLog.
We suggest that you put a tick in the EasyLog "WSJT" menu under "Enable QSO data reception from WSJT" (actually works just fine with JTDX)
The settings to be enabled in JTDX are shown in the window.
The options can be found in JTDX, from the File menu, then Settings. Then select Reporting.
Enable the same ticks, and enter the data in the fields exactly as shown.
