One of the most famous quotes among radio amateurs comes from Paul M. Segal, W9EEA, who crafted the Radio Amateur's Code in 1928. It serves as a guiding principle for amateur radio enthusiasts worldwide. Here’s a notable excerpt:
"The Radio Amateur is… Considerate… never knowingly operates in such a way as to lessen the pleasure of others. Loyal… offers loyalty, encouragement and support to other amateurs, local clubs, and the American Radio Relay League, through which Amateur Radio in the United States is represented nationally and internationally. Progressive… with knowledge abreast of science, a well-built and efficient station and operation above reproach. Friendly… slow and patient operating when requested; friendly advice and counsel to the beginner; kindly assistance, cooperation and consideration for the interests of others. These are the hallmarks of the amateur spirit. Balanced… radio is an avocation, never interfering with duties owed to family, job, school or community. Patriotic… station and skill always ready for service to country and community."
This code is highly valued in the amateur radio community and highlights the spirit, ethics, and passion of amateur radio operators worldwide.

Tips & Tricks
EasyLog automatically shows whether a spotted station is enrolled in LoTW or not, showing it in different way depending on the DX-List or Panel-Cluster view.
Figure 1 shows the Panel Cluster View in which LoTW enrollment is shown with a specific graphic symbol (2.)
Figure 2 shows the view
DX List in which LoTW enrollment is shown in a specific column (2.)
EasyLog's DX-Cluster support in both views, uses the LoTW subscriber list from a file retrieved from www.hb9bza.net and maintained by him over the years. Since the user list is now officially released by ARRL, in one of the next releases we will remove the download and use the official list as we are already doing for FT8-Running.
Al momento, ricordate di cliccare di tanto in tanto il tasto Update (1.) per mentenere la lista aggiornata.
The DX-Cluster in EasyLog can pronounce the spots. The pronunciation can be turned on or off via the 'speaker' button on the toolbars just above the cluster area (see Figure 3 and Figure 4).
When the button is pressed, figure 5 (2.) the sound is on, when it is released 5 (1.) the sound is off.
The DX-Spot Detail Window
From the DX List view click the button with the blue icon (figure 5), the detail window of the
DX-Spot.
The detail window offers:
- Shows DXCC status broken down by band and mode
- Allows you to look up DXCC and other automatic award statistics
- The ability to rotate the antenna short or long path with one click
- The ability to set the frequency or send the dx-spot to Running
- The ability to show in real time the position of the dx-spot on the map. And if you leave the window open, you can visually see the flow of the dx-spots and the propagation.

This week, I wanted to share a teaching from Canadian Indigenous wisdom about facing life’s challenges.
Buffalos, despite their strength, don’t fight against a blizzard. Instead, they gather in a tight circle, supporting one another until the storm passes. In the same way, we can face life’s challenges by coming together, leaning on each other, and remembering that no storm lasts forever—every challenge eventually fades.
