This week's Tips & Tricks are dedicated to the new eQSL feature 

Here are the steps to configure the automated eQSL support in EasyLog

eQSL Account Verification

To use eQSL, you must have a valid and active account. 

It is possible to create a free or paid account that provides some additional services. For information, please refer to the eQSL website:

If you have an account that you haven't used for a while, we kindly invite you to first check that the account is active and working by entering your credentials directly on the eqsl website:

Also verify that your account does not have an end date in the past, (by clicking the following link) as this would cause errors during the upload of new QSOs.

If the end date is in the past, move it to a future date such as 2030 or later. 

eQSL Configuration on EasyLog

After creating or verifying your eQSL account, you are ready to configure EasyLog. 

Configuring the eQSL account in EasyLog is very simple, click on the eQSL menu and on the configuration button, providing your Username and Password, the same ones you use to access the website.

Once the credentials for your eQSL account are set, the LED will turn green, and EasyLog will have access to the account

Upload QSO to eQSL

Similarly to what was done for LoTW, depending on the settings you choose from the eQSL menu, the upload and download can occur automatically or manually by using the override buttons.

The Upload will automatically transfer all the selected QSOs in the QSLBuffer to eQSL. The upload is performed in the background, so you can easily continue using EasyLog while the QSOs are being sent to eQSL.

The upload window can be minimized to avoid taking up too much screen space, and the process will continue to work automatically

Download eQSL

The download of eQSLs happens automatically. The new confirmations will be shown in preview, and the graphics of the confirmation eQSLs can be viewed simply by scrolling with the keyboard or mouse. 

The eQSL can be printed by clicking the Print button during the Preview.

Additionally, the Log is updated and the two new fields eQSLS and eQSLR are filled in automatically.

The download is performed in the background, so you can safely continue using EasyLog while confirmations and eQSL graphics are being downloaded.

eQSL confirmations are automatically linked to the Log, and while scrolling through the Log, the presence of the green eQSL button will indicate that the QSO has been confirmed via eQSL.

By clicking the green eQSL button, it will be possible to display the eQSL graphic at any time.

Renew before the expiration to enjoy one month free

• All users with active subscription will be able to download the new release for free from the Reserved Area.

• Renewing before the expiration you will receive one month for free: 13 months (instead of 12) and you won't lose a single day, as the 13 months will be added to the natural expiration date.

• Check the status of your support in the Reserved Area menu of EasyLog and renew it if expired to not miss the new release 2024.1.0.9 and the 2025 updates we are working on and to promptly receive the CHECK, Manager, and Awards updates along with our priority technical support

DP1POL, Antarctica

Felix, DL5XL will be active from Antarctica from Jan-12 to Feb-25 2025.

DP1POL is located at the German research station "Neumayer III" in Antarctica, about 1,300 miles North of the South Pole. My home call sign is DL5XL, and I was a member of the 29th Neumayer wintering team as an electronics engineer. The station was officially inaugurated on February 20, 2009. My first assignment at "Neumayer III" lasted from December 2008 to February 2010, and I have come back to this special place regularly in the Antarctic summer (December to February). My last assignment was from mid-January 2024 to the early March 2024.

I operate mainly CW on the HF bands, with some digimode and SSB activity. In the Antarctic summer, we are in broad daylight almost all day long, so please do not expect any serious low band effort. This will only be possible in winter.

The complete log will be uploaded to Clublog and LotW, and printed cards are readily availabe through my most reliable QSL manager DL1ZBO.

DXCC country is Antarctica (CE9/KC4), and the IOTA reference is AN-016 (Antarctica mainland). 

DP1POL is located at 70°40'S, 8°17'W in grid locator field IB59UI, CQ Zone 38, and ITU Zone 67. Contacts are valid for the World Antarctic Program (WAP DEU-08) and the World Wide Flora Fauna Award (WWFF DLFF-022). QSO data is uploaded to ARRL's Logbook of the World and Clublog on a regular basis.

QSL cards (including SWL reports which are always very welcome) are handled by Ray, DL1ZBO. Bureau cards are fine. If you prefer a direct reply, please enclose an SAE and sufficient return postage: 1 new IRC (valid until 2025) or 2 US Dollars will cover postage to any destination by air mail. The QSL address is:
