In the latest update, the manual downloading of the list of LoTW members has been eliminated, now replaced with the automatic download of the official members list directly from ARRL, similar to what we implemented for FT8-Running.

Finally some users wondered how to close the Callbook panel. In the latest version we redesigned the Callbook panel's user interface by removing the close icon in the top right to prevent confusion with the new input field that features a red X for text deletion. You can open and close the Callbook panel by clicking the "Callbook web" button to the right of the DX-Cluster area.

Some notes on the

new release

The 2025.1.2.0 update has added country flags in several areas, including the DX-Cluster, Log, and awards section (DXCC).

New release

We began with the official country lists and made every effort to acquire all the flags however for certain entities, particularly those that no longer exist or are territories or smaller regions, acquiring the flag proved challenging.

With the help of numerous users, we are gathering and confirming missing flags from available sources to include in future versions. Below is an analysis by Nino, IK8CNT, who has contributed several flags.

Dear Franco I am sending you the missing flags but first it’s important to provide some context.

In addition to the flags of officially recognized states that are part of IARU and UN like Montenegro Kosovo Slovakia etc in our world we also have countries that are merely overseas territories of other nations and some like BS7 Scarborough Reef even face disputes among multiple countries (China Philippines and Taiwan).

Some of these countries lack their own flag and thus adopt the flag of the state they are administratively dependent on or associated with (as they are uninhabited islands) such as (Swains – American Samoa) (Chesterfield – New Caledonia) (Ducie – Pitcairn).

Meanwhile other countries have managed to incorporate some identity into their flags or have developed their own after gaining a certain level of political-administrative and/or social autonomy.

Avoiding a lecture in geography or foreign politics my sources are from Wikipedia.

In the diplomas section I found only 20 missing flags for active countries so I'm attaching only 19 flags with a question mark as the 20th is that of Scarborough Reef which I believe should have a question mark for a while and it would be prudent for the ARRL authorities to remove it since it's pointless and poses logistical (for those unaware an operator once had a panic attack) and especially military risks.

Tips & Tricks

Windows 11 and video resolution.

Here we share an intriguing account from Maurizio, IW2BLR about an issue that arose with Windows 11 concerning video resolution, hoping it benefits anyone facing the same issue.

Good morning Franco,
Thank you for assisting with the issue I faced I'm pleased to inform you that everything is resolved.
A brief history;
Yesterday morning (14/05/2025) following the installation of the new EssyLog release (2025.1.2.0) and the Manager update (week 20), the PC (Acer i7 Aspire 3 with Windows 11) suddenly altered the screen resolution from 1920x1080 to 640x480.

After that, I adjusted the screen settings back to a resolution of 1920x1080, but the issue persisted. Everything worked fine until I launched EasyLog, then upon restarting, the problem returned with the same traits.

I should note that before updating, the PC had no issues. After reaching out to you, you responded promptly, and after several email exchanges over the next few hours, your patience and professionalism resolved the issue. It turned out Windows 11 was independently changing the screen resolution with the EasyLog application.

Thank you for your quick response to the issue and your availability throughout the day. Thanks once more, have a great day.
