Country unveils new flags

Thanks to Massimo IW3ILM, who is tirelessly researching and verifying historical sources, we are able to add flags even for the most challenging deleted countries. We appreciate your dedication, Massimo!

Setting Up and Configuring OmniRig

We're revisiting this topic previously discussed in this Newsletter for the benefit of new subscribers.

Omnirig is a free third-party software, supported by EasyLog for device support, equipped with many ready drivers.

You can download OmniRig from this link:

After unzipping the Client.zip file in a temporary folder, you can install it.

Once OmniRig is installed, you can set up two devices via the Radio menu. EasyLog uses interfaces 5 and 6 which are Radio 1 and Radio 2 of OmniRig.

Make sure OmniRig is enabled in EasyLog (top right of the Radio menu). If you see Omnirig Off click it to switch to Omnirig On.

To configure your radio settings use interface 5 for Radio 1 and click on None, the Omnirig equipment configuration window will appear as shown above. Go to the Radio 1 tab and adjust the radio, port, speed, etc.

Ensuring the default Radio (5 in this instance) is selected at the top left of the Radio menu is crucial, so double-clicking a Spot on the DX-Cluster or DX-Hunter automatically adjusts the radio frequency and mode. 

If Omnirig doesn't function right after installation, try restarting your computer and attempt it again.

Toggle the DX spot pronunciation on and off

To turn on or off the voice pronunciation for the spots, access the DX-List (1.) and press the pronunciation button (2.) once to enable (if it's off) and click again to disable.

Jean-Pierre Tendron, SK 07/17/2025 at the age of 102 years completed on April 14.

This afternoon the phone rings and F5XL Jean-Pierre appears on the display.
A shiver runs through us with the fear of hearing who might be on the other end of the line.
Denise's voice leaves us speechless: hearing her words a lump forms in our throat.
