FT8-Running the exclusive feature of EasyLog

This week's Tips & Tricks, especially for our new users and Newsletter readers, revisits an article on FT8-Runningthe exclusive feature of EasyLog. Discover a unique way to work in FT8 and FT4.

FT8-Running doesn't need any external software or complicated setups. Just use WSJT-X / JTDX or MSHV, and it's incredibly easy to get started.

Simply click the yellow FT8-Running button at the bottom of the EasyLog main screen, and configure WSJT-X, JTDX, or MSHV as described in the manual accessible by clicking the violet button at the top right of the FT8-Running window. You'll be up and running in seconds, ready to operate in FT8 and FT4 directly from EasyLog with a control panel full of real-time information!

FT8-Running, seamlessly integrated with EasyLog, automatically detects WSJT-X, JTDX, or MSHV. It intercepts CQ calls and ongoing QSOs in FT8/FT4, presenting them in a clearer and more convenient format while showing the DXCC status of the stations at a glance, whether they are a new country, worked, or confirmed. FT8-Running automatically identifies NewOne DXCC and WAZ, isolating them in a dedicated section and highlighting their presence with a flash.

With EasyLog and FT8-Running, nothing can escape you, you get valuable real-time information and everything is under control.

Additionally, by enabling WAS statistics, you can effortlessly determine the USA state with an automatic link to the custom WAS diploma, and see diploma statistics in real-time. Instantly identify missing states and easily get confirmation with LoTW information, allowing you to progress quickly and enjoyably with the diploma.

FT8-Running offers a wealth of real-time information in a clear and understandable manner:

DXCC status: Mixed status on the band and current mode.
WAZ status: Mixed status on the band and current world.
Indicates if the station has been contacted before and when.
Indicates if the station is confirmed, either via LoTW or with a paper QSL.
Indicates if the station is registered on LoTW and how often confirmations are sent. The number of days since the last confirmation is color-coded: green for frequent updates, yellow for infrequent, and red for rare. This assists in selecting the station with the best chance of quick confirmation within the same country.
Shows signal strength in dB with a color-coded s-meter: green for a strong signal, yellow for moderate, and orange and red for weak or very weak.

Work in FT8 from your couch

The FT8-Running user interface is designed to be easily used remotely from a tablet, as described in Newsletter #26, to which we refer you for details.

The example shown here is based on an Apple iPad, but the same thing can be done with Android Tablets.
