A Message from the Founders

Dear readers,

In a constantly evolving amateur radio world, having updated software is not just a detail. It's a necessity.

For us, EasyLog has never been a “finished” product. It's a living system, continuously growing. Every release is not a destination but a step forward.

It means working constantly to improve performance, stability, and ease of use. But above all, it means one fundamental thing for every radio amateur: always reflecting the current operational reality.

The changes in prefix assignments, new DXCC entities, variations in callsigns: all of this constantly evolves. Our commitment is that EasyLog is always aligned with these changes, without you having to worry about anything.

From release to check, every update is designed to keep your log accurate, updated, and reliable over time.

Because a log is not just an archive: it's your radio history.

We believe that modern software should do exactly this:

simplify, update, and accompany you over time.

EasyLog is not just a tool.

It's a station companion that grows together with you.

73 and good DX!

FT8.it read the review on our FT8 and FT4 Manual

We are pleased to share the review recently published by the authoritative site on digital ways FT8.it

In the realm of digital modes, FT8 and its "fast brother" FT4 have literally revolutionized radio operations in recent years. Whether you are a seasoned HF operator or newly licensed, the volume "FT8 and FT4 Handbook: A Practical Guide for Radio Amateurs to Maximize FT8 Potential" serves as the ultimate compass for navigating these digital waters.

What is it about?
It's not the usual instruction manual that only tells you where to click. This text delves deep, analyzing not just the software setup (which is fundamental, of course) but focusing on making the station truly efficient. The focus is clear: maximizing performance.

The manual's strengths
The book is structured to guide the operator through a logical path:

Optimal Configuration: Detailed explanations on time synchronization (crucial for these protocols) and audio gain management to avoid distortions and "splatter."

Operational Strategies: It's not enough to transmit; you need to know when and where to do it. The manual offers intriguing insights on how to interpret the waterfall and manage the virtual "pile-up" during contests or DX activations.

Software Integration: Ample space is dedicated to the ecosystem surrounding WSJT-X and JTDX, including logging software and alert systems.

Why read it?

In an era where signals are often weak and urban electromagnetic noise (QRM) is at its peak, mastering FT8 means achieving contacts that would be impossible in voice.

What we particularly appreciated:

Clear Language: It avoids unnecessary academic technicalities, speaking the language of radio amateurs.

Practical Approach: It’s clear that the author has spent hours in front of the waterfall; the advice is born from field experience, not just theory.

Final Verdict
If you have just downloaded WSJT-X and feel overwhelmed by the settings, or if you've used FT8 for a while but feel you're not fully exploiting its potential, this manual is an excellent investment for your station.
It’s a guide that deserves a place on the shelf (or the desktop) of every modern radio amateur.

This Second Edition 2025, updated and expanded, includes new chapters and revised content to meet the needs of modern radio amateurs, from beginners to the most experienced operators.

Tips & Tricks

In this issue, we answer some assistance questions received that might be useful to other users

The DXHunter and Online CAT Callbook Control

The DXHunter displays spots coming from the DX-Cluster on a vertical tuning scale that appears on the left side of the main window of EasyLog. To activate or deactivate the DXHunter window, press the green DX Hunter button located to the right of the DX-Cluster area.

DX Hunter

The DXHunter is fully integrated with the CAT which, if configured, will allow you to tune into DX-Spots by double-clicking on the DX call signs label. The Running window will open from which you can view all the station details and decide whether to work it based on the award situation. The color of the label complies with the DX-Cluster color standard so a quick glance lets you understand the presence of interesting stations for your DXCC score.

Inoltre facendo doppio clic sulla scala parlante è possibile spostare la sintonia dell'apparato su quella frequenza instantaneamente.

The DXHunter represents a convenient way to view DX spots divided by band and frequency. It is possible to zoom in or out on the band section to monitor and adjust the font size based on three levels of size.

Together with the DX-List and the Panel-Cluster, the DX Hunter is one of the three viewing modes for DX activity coming from the DX-Cluster provided by EasyLog.

IS0/IZ3KVD (IOTA EU‑024)

I’ll be QRV from Sardinia Island (IOTA EU‑024) as IS0/IZ3KVD

📅 08–17 June 2026

This will be a holiday‑style operation, but I’ll try to be active whenever propagation allows.

Expect me mainly on 20m, 17m and 15m, and other, depending on band conditions, with occasional activity on other HF bands.

I’ll work SSB, with some FT8/FT4 during weaker openings.

If the bands cooperate, I’ll focus on long‑path windows and greyline opportunities to give everyone a fair chance.
