| A note from the founders | Important: Help Us Keep Our Newsletter Running Smoothly  Dear Readers,  🤩 We are excited to share that we’ve reached the 10th issue of our new version of newsletter! It's been two and a half months since we embarked on this journey, and we hope you're enjoying the content and finding it useful and informative. Your support means a lot to us as we strive to bring you the best updates.  📢 EasyLog Newsletter serves as our official voice to stay connected with the EasyLog community and provide valuable services. We envisioned it as a tool to keep the conversation open between our team and the community. While we gather requests and suggestions through our other channels, like our Facebook groups and email support, the newsletter offers insights into what’s happening at HQ, our latest developments, news about new services, releases, and tutorials with tips and tricks to help you get the most out of EasyLog.  ✍ This effort requires significant commitment and resources, especially because the newsletter is distributed weekly and translated into four languages for greater accessibility. However, we believe it’s worth it, and the initial feedback has been very encouraging. We want to extend our thanks to Line Rainville for her excellent work in editing and translating our newsletters.  👌 We provide the newsletter as a free service to all subscribers, active customers, and those who have downloaded our free trials and resources, who we believe have a genuine interest in learning more about EasyLog. |

| | 👋 We’ve made it easy and straightforward to unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive our newsletters. Simply click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any of our newsletters, and we will promptly remove you from our list.  🤔 Please use the unsubscribe link rather than the spam button on your email client, as marking our newsletters as spam can negatively impact our ability to deliver the newsletter to other subscribers.   🤷 If you’ve experienced interruptions in receiving past issues of the newsletter, please check your spam folder in case the newsletter landed there. You can recover it to your inbox to ensure you receive future issues. If you’re receiving our newsletter in duplicate, in more than one language, or to multiple email addresses, and wish to adjust your preferences, please contact us, and we’ll resolve the issue quickly.  🙋 To subscribe to the newsletter, please click the following link, where you can also access any past issues you may have missed: https://www.easylog.com/subscribe-easylog-newsletter-en/  🙏 Thank you for your understanding and support!  Best regards,   Piero and Franco Pirrone, EasyLog’s founders |

New Release 2024.1.0.6 is available for download | | | by Franco Pirrone |
| By the time you read this newsletter, the new release 2024.1.0.6 will have been released. Let's take a look at it and explain what's new in it. The next release, which we have been working on for some time now, will include automatic eQSL support. | | | We have worked to add the possibility to import the Power and the Note field. Since WSJT-X at lease in he actual release 2.6.1 has check to include/exclude the fields to import, we realized they don't work, so we preferred to add two new check boxes in the QSL settings tabsheet in EasyLog Add/Edit window. |
| | | email extraction from QRZ.com for QSL Courtesy module | We have carefully verified the process of email extraction from qrz.com in QSL section used by the QSL Courtesy. |
| EasyLog automatically ask for a new session to qrz.com when an active session has expired. This gives continuity in the query and the extraction progress should not be interrupted. |
| Please note that if you use QRZ.com in free mode you have a 150 queries per day limit, when this is finished you will not be able to make other queries, so in this case the automatical process of extraction will stop to get the emails. |
| To use the email extraction and other features that make automatic queries on QRZ.com in a massive way (like the FT8 WAS feature) please consider to use a paid mode account that has no query limits. |
| Now you can add or edit the emails after extractions | | | We have now split the QSL courtesy button in QSL section in two different buttons. |
|
|
| | One, the new yellow button, to extract the emails and the other, the blue one, to open the QSL Courtesy module and delivery the emails (see figure 1). |
| This approach give you the chance to edit the emails in case of mistake or to manually add emails that QRZ.com was unable to find. Just press Enter on a row or double click it to show the edit email dialog box. |
| QSL Courtesy @yahoo support | We added the support of @yahoo accounts to EasyLog QSL Courtesy  To setup a yahoo account, after selecting the QSO in the QSL buffer window, click the QSL Courtesy button to open the module and then click the Setup button to provide your @yahoo username and password.  Please note that, similarly to @gmail accounts, the password is not the one you use for yahoo.com webmail. You need to generate an App Password for EasyLog. Click the blue button in the setup dialog box for a step-by-step guide on generating the App password. |
| FT8-Running improved parsing | We have improved the parsing of the incoming data from WSJT-X / JTDX to recover the additional information that may be written in the CQ lines. Â This additional information may include DX specifications such as CQ DX, CQ NA, CQ EU, or special awards such as POTA, IOTA, etc., so we highlight it so you can take advantage of it. |

| Tips & Tricks | | This week we will start the exploration of the DX-Cluster support in EasyLog. We have three different display modes: | - DX-List
- Panel Cluster
- DX-Hunter
| All three have peculiarities and we do have our own preferences. We will speak this time of a very unique way to manage the incoming DX-Spots: | | To open the Panel Cluster view mode, just click on the Panel Cluster button on the right of the DX-Cluster area | | | The Panel Cluster regroups all the DX-spots of the same DX callsign and allows you to have a more clear and clean vision of what is going on on the frequencies. | | | The panel displays all the most important information of the DX-Spot, like the DXCC country and the other awards' information, if the DX station uses LoTW, and the number of times the DX station has been spotted. |
|
| | | - The DX-Call, clicking the DX-Call the Running window will be opened with all the details allowing a quick and comfortable logging
- The UTC time of the last spotter
- The DX-Call uses LoTW.
- The number of times the DX-Call has been spotted. By clicking it all spotters of the DX-Call will be shown
- DXCC Mode statusÂ
- Frequency of the Spot in KHz. By clicking it the TRX will be tuned automatically
- DX Spot notes
- DXCC band status
- DXCC Band and mode status
- DXCC status
| Click on the color icon to know the color codes used by EasyLog | | | On the Panel Cluster bar some controls allows to change the order and to navigate between panel pages: | - Show the panels in order of date and time (the last spots first)
- Show the most spotted first
- Show in DXCC status order (the Newones first)
- Use the slide to adjust the time window in within to show the last spots (between 1 and 30 minutes)
- Page navigation
- Switch on and off the DX Spot pronounciation
- Clean the DX-Spot panels
