EasyLog's CW keyer lets you send Morse code via keyboard or macros, and supports external K1EL Winkeyer-compatible devices.
|
|
EASYLOG has supported K1EL's Winkeyer hardware for years to ensure accurate and dependable CW keying.
|
|
This shift came after we previously relied on direct access to I/O through the pins of the serial and parallel ports. While this method allowed us to achieve keying with simple circuits, it proved inadequate for maintaining precise timing, especially with newer operating systems that affected the performance of direct I/O operations.
We chose this solution for its broad adoption and high reliability, which are crucial for operating in complex environments like EasyLog.
However, we are not stopping here. We are currently developing our own hardware solution, which will not only maintain excellent precision in CW keying but also offer new features and perfect integration with EasyLog, providing an even richer and smoother operational experience

We received an interesting analysis about the new CW keyer Area from Antonio IV3IUM.
Since the CW keyer is an area on which we are carrying out evaluations and analysis to add new features, we welcome ideas and proposals to be analyzed together with our development team. If you are a CW enthusiasm, please feel free to contact us for any comment.

In our community contributions section this week, we are delighted to present the work of our friend Giorgio I1MRH picturing the setup of his new and impressive Japanese KA1-406S Yagi antenna.
This installation is remarkable not only for the size of the antenna but also for the precision and care with which it has been carried out.
In a series of images, Giorgio shows us the progress of his installation. The first photo shows the antenna on the tower's carriage, just a few meters off the ground.
The second image shows the antenna fully raised, but still in testing mode to "let the antenna get used to the altitude." Some details are still missing, like connecting the cables and securing the last two sets of guy wires, but everything is ready for the final steps.
In the last image, we see the control box of the antenna at the station.
Giorgio mentions that even though he forgot to remove the nylon covering the box, the project is progressing well, and the next steps are scheduled for the upcoming days. If ever we receive more follow-up or details from him, we will be happy to share them with you.
This is just a preview of the project, and Giorgio has promised to send us a follow-up once the installation is fully complete. We look forward to seeing the final results of this impressive adventure!
