Tips & Tricks

How do I delete a QSO from a Log?

To delete a QSO added by mistake to a Log, there are two options:

  • 1- Overwrite it with the next new QSO
  • 2- Use the delete / recovery function of a QSO by right-clicking on the QSL to be deleted.

If you choose option 2, proceed as described below:

CW Keyer

The QSO marked for cancellation will appear crossed out in the Log and will not be taken into account for the diploma situation. If you select the same function again the QSO will be "recovered" the crossed out line will be removed and the QSO will be taken into account again for diplomas.

CW Keyers settings

However, if you want to permanently remove one or more QSOs marked for deletion, start the Utilities module from the Tools menu, and then close EasyLog.

The main window of the Utilities module will appear, as shown below:

CW Keyers settings

Click the indicated button, select the Log from which you want to delete the QSOs marked for deletion and confirm the operation. QSOs will be permanently removed.

The Default Radio

If you have configured one or more of the 6 radio interfaces available in EasyLog, remember that you will have to specify which radio is to be considered as "default" i.e. which one will be used connected to the cluster.

renew

In the image above, you can see that an IC-7300 is configured as Radio 5 (via Omnirig), and consequently, in the upper left panel of the Radio menu, Radio 5 has been selected as the default radio. In this way, when you click on the frequency of a spot in the cluster panel mode (or double-click on the row in the DX-List mode), the radio will automatically switch (and the mode will be set accordingly) to the spot's frequency.

Configure the Bandplan Area

EasyLog automatically recognizes the band plan of each band and the most popular modes of the main band segments.

IARU Region Map

Since IARU has established a subdivision into geographical regions, it is important to specify which region you belong to. The Bandplans in fact differ slightly depending on the Region to which they belong.

Configuring an incorrect Bandplan may result in band and mode not being recognized when typing a frequency in EasyLog.

IARU Region setting

To configure your IARU Region to which you belong. Open the Tools menu, then click on Setup and in the configuration window choose your Region from the drop-down list.

Restart EasyLog after the operation so that the new Region is active.
