Latest news

This week we had to divide our efforts and energies to prepare the upcoming new release 2024.1.0.9 and our special offers for Black Friday, to offer you the best opportunities during this exciting season.

In addition, we are organizing an important meeting to define the vision and projects for next year, so that we can continue to propose content and initiatives that really inspire you.

As part of this future-oriented strategy, we are also renewing our newsletter to make it even more dynamic and engaging. We already have some exciting ideas in mind, but we would also like to know your opinions.

If there are themes, topics or sections that you would like to see in the next editions, feel free to share them with us—working together and growing as a community is always a pleasure.

Thank you for being such an important part of our reality. Everything we do is meant for you and with you in mind, and we are excited to continue to build something extraordinary along with your support.

Current developments

Waiting to announce the availability date of the next release 2024.1.0.9, (we are preparing the distribution and carefully checking that nothing is missing) we are happy to tell you what else we are working on.

We are devoting attention to the development of the DX Corner, a space that we want to make even more alive and collaborative. This corner will be entirely dedicated to you, our readers: a place where you can share your posts, thoughts and stories. Whether it's a creative idea, an inspiring reflection or something you care about, we'd love to give voice to your contribution. If you have something to propose, write to us! Together we can transform the DX Corner into a fundamental and engaging part of our newsletter.

In addition, we are working on a new eBook that will be part of a series of ebook manuals with specific and useful amateur radio themes. We will keep you updated on its development!

As always, thank you for being part of this trip with us. Keep following us for the next updates, and remember that we are here for you and thanks to you!

Tips & Tricks

QRB, Azimuth and rotor control

EasyLog shows in real time the QRB in km and the short and long way antenna pointing of the QSOs. Both when entering a new QSO and when scrolling the Log.

QRB e Azimuth

For automatic calculation to work, you must specify your WW Locator in the Log properties. For the location of the correspondent his WW Locator is used (if inserted in the appropriate field of the QSO) or in the absence of it, EasyLog uses the locator of the capital or geographical center of his country.

This solution allows, especially for the most distant countries, to have a rough azimuth useful for a first pointing of the antenna. Of course, by entering the exact Locator of the corresponding one, the calculation will be absolutely accurate both for the pointing and for the mileage.

QRB e Azimuth

The panel has several features in addition to showing data:

  • (1.) Short route antenna aiming: by clicking the Short button, if you have a compatible control box, the antenna will be rotated by the number of degrees indicated for that corresponding
  • (2.) Long way aiming: by clicking the Long button the antenna will be rotated for the long way.
  • (3.) Double click in the long way field, you can type the degrees of rotation manually and by clicking the Long button (which will become Set) it will be possible to start the rotation of the antenna.

Configuring your WW Locator

Your WW Locator can be entered during the creation of a new Log or later using the personal data window.

WW Locator setup

To open the personal data window, first click on the Tools menu then on the Setup button and finally on the Log Options button (1.). Enter the Locator in the field (2.) and click Ok to save it.

Configuration of the Control-Box Rotors

Rotor Setup

Open the Rotors configuration window by clicking on the Rotor Control button in the Tools menu

Choose one of the available options:

  • Hy-Gain DCU1 and compatible rotor using the same protocol
  • ARSWin
  • Prosistel

DCU-1 and Prosistel work through a serial port, click the button with three dots to configure it.

IB9R del Pile Up Dx Team.

We are very satisfied with the result of the CW round as we managed to achieve our goals and exceed expectations.

IB9R del Pile Up Dx Team.

We are aware that in the Multi Single Tx High Power category we cannot currently claim to position ourselves in the first places of the world ranking but we try to improve ourselves Contest after Contest to get closer and closer to a Big station set-up.

IB9R del Pile Up Dx Team.

We have many projects under construction and we will work to improve the Antenne park. What we certainly don't lack is the passion and the team spirit that finds a perfect combination in the love of radio and good food.
