| | Tips & Tricks | | | FT8-Running the exclusive functionality of EasyLog | This week's Tips&Tricks delves into FT8-Running the exclusive EasyLog feature. A unique way to work in FT8 and FT4. | | FT8-Running does not require external software to operate besides WSJT-X / JTDX, and it is very simple to use. Click on the yellow FT8-Running button, and configure WSJT-X or JTDX as shown in the manual that appears by clicking the violet button at the top right of the FT8-Running window. You will be operational in a few seconds, ready to operate in FT8 and FT4 directly from EasyLog and with a control panel full of real-time information! | FT8-Running, perfectly integrated into EasyLog, automatically detects WSJT-X or JTDX and allows you to intercept CQ calls and ongoing QSOs in FT8/FT4 by displaying them in a more readable and convenient form, showing the DXCC status of the stations at a glance, whether they are a New Country, worked, or confirmed. FT8-Running automatically detects NewOne DXCC and WAZ which it isolates in a specific section, visually signaling their presence with a flash. | | | | | | | With EasyLog and FT8-Running, nothing can escape you, you get valuable real-time information and everything is under control. | | | | | |
| | | Additionally, by enabling WAS statistics, you will be able to automatically determine the US state (with automatic connection to qrz.com / hamqth.com) and see the awards statistics in real-time. You will be able to identify missing states at a glance and, with the help of LoTW information, obtain a quick confirmation, progressing in the awards quickly and enjoyably. |
|
| | | FT8-Running provides you with a wealth of real-time information, in a clear and understandable way: | - The DXCC status in mixed mode, on the band, and in the current mode
- The WAZ status in mixed mode, on the band and in the current mode
- Shows if the station has already been worked and when
- Shows if the station has already been confirmed, whether via LoTW or with a paper QSL
- Shows if the station is registered on LoTW and how often it sends its confirmations: the number of days since the last submission highlighted by a color code, green: frequent update, yellow: infrequent, red: very rare. This helps to choose the station with the highest predisposition for a quick confirmation in the same country.
- Shows the signal strength in dB, with an easily interpretable s-meter by color: green: strong signal, yellow: moderate signal, orange and red: weak or very weak.
| Work in FT8 from your couch | The FT8-Running user interface is designed to be easily used remotely from a tablet, as described in the previous Newsletter to which we refer you for details. | The example shown here is based on an Apple iPad but the same thing can be done with an Android Tablet. | | Have fun and Good DX with FT8-Running! |
