1. Early Days to Pre-Internet Era:
Radio Amateur DX clubs originated in the early 20th century, formed by enthusiasts exchanging signals over long distances ("DX"). Their focus was primarily on improving communication among amateur radio operators and foster camaraderie, share technical knowledge, and connect globally via radio waves and traditional methods.
2. Internet Era and Digital Revolution:
Radio Amateur DX clubs underwent a transformative shift with the rise of the internet in the late 20th century. The Internet facilitated easier information access, real-time communication, and online community formation. DX clubs integrated digital tech, organized contests, shared QSL cards, and expanded globally.
3. Modern Era and Beyond:
Today, Radio Amateur DX clubs thrive as dynamic hubs for global radio enthusiasts. They use advanced technologies like SDRs, satellite communications, and digital modes like FT8 for efficient DXing. Social media and dedicated websites enhance community engagement, knowledge sharing and new members recruitment. DX clubs remain pivotal in promoting amateur radio as a hobby and a service, evolving with technology to meet the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.

How to renew the LoTW certificates
by IK8CNT, Nino Mazzuca |
Due to recent events impacting our amateur radio community, as the LoTW service has been down for over a month, I want to remind you of how to renew your certificate for data uploads. Since the trouble never comes alone, my certificate happened to expire during this outage.
The renewal request process is straightforward and user-friendly, even for beginners like me. Let's proceed step-by-step.
Launch the TQSL program, click the menu and select the option as illustrated in the figure below.
Subsequent windows will prompt for your name, address (possibly pre-filled), country, and the start date of your license's validity. Leave the activity end date fields blank unless you wish to specify an end date.
Next, you must create a password and enter your email address. This is crucial as your certificate will be sent to this email. Ensure it is accurate.
Then, a prompt will ask for confirmation to forward the request to the system administrators. Respond with 'YES'. If everything is correct, the next screen will appear.
The important certificate should reach your email within 4 business days in the U.S.A. (typically 1 day)
Store it in the folder with TQSL.exe and ensure you have a backup copy. Then, open the drop-down menu again and choose 'load call-sign certificate from file'.
Locate the file you saved in the previous step and open it.
That's all. The golden cockade will finally emerge.
One last recommendation. Please be sure that you have properly set your LoTW account in EasyLog.
In the EasyLog LoTW account dialogue box, all the information you enter must match what you entered in TQSL. This includes your username, password, callsign, TQSL password (if any), and especially the station location.
If you don't remember your TQSL entries, please open TQSL and copy the exact details.
I hope I have been helpful and clear, ensuring no critical steps were missed.
I apologize for the images not being perfectly aligned. To expedite the process, I chose to photograph instead of using 'screenshots'.
Finally, I want to thank the authors of Easylog for this opportunity and their trust in me.

I am sending you the photo of the QSL and my homemade multi-radiator antenna with a ground floor of 45 wires of 3 meters. The 20 meter radiator that supports all the others is made of aluminum with a short-circuited coil to make the 30 and 40 meters. The other 2.5 mmq. wire bands can also be done with a 5-meter Dechatlon fishing rod.
