I believe everyone should at least learn Morse code, as situations where a ship is in trouble could arise, and if the operators are unable, knowing the code could save the ship and its passengers.

We are developing a new version of EasyLog

The work on the new release continues. Thanks to contributions from some users and the thorough research we are implementing, many flags will be added to countries that lacked them. The new features of the DX-Alert window are currently in beta testing, as are the extended LoTW information for the DX-Cluster. We are also working on some new features that will be unveiled immediately after the release of the new version scheduled in about a week.

If you have radios linked to EasyLog, ensure to select the radio for the DX-Cluster in the Radio menu (enabling auto frequency change by clicking a spot) and copy the frequency into the QSO entry window.

Choose Radio 1..6 based on the radio you wish to use for the Spots and for automatic frequency detection when entering new QSOs.

Radio 5 and Radio 6 serve as Omnirig's equivalent to Radio 1 and Radio 2.

Le Langhe

Langhe Tour 2025

Day 1

At 14:30, we set off from Via Torino in Mondovì, heading towards the highway and through the valley floor to Clavesana, arriving at Capoluogo where the medieval tower is located. This route, at mid-level, passes through famous vineyards and especially cherry trees. In autumn, higher up in the mountains, the view must be spectacular with cherry trees whose leaves turn from green to fiery red... Reaching Sbaranzo, we arrived at the junction to Belvedere Langhe, then headed towards Murazzano below the medieval tower.

Quick stop and a new pause at the gianduia bar in the square, close to trattoria da Lele. A delightful hazelnut ice cream from the Langhe priced at 8.00 euros each. After a hydration break in Murazzano, we returned home via the same route as our journey there. Before settling in at home, we visited Carassone to pay respect to the locals. After 62 km of pure excitement, keeping our speed under 75 km per hour for fuel efficiency, we arrived home precisely at 5:00 PM. A refreshing shower followed by a hearty dinner.

Some photos will be shared to commemorate the wonderful afternoon.

See you tomorrow....

Day 2 – Wednesday 06/11/2025

We leave Via Torino in Mondovì at 14:05, heading to the highway via SS12dir. Due to road construction, we turn sharply right before Carmine's descent to take the old road to Bastia. We then follow SP12 to Piantorre, part of Castellino Tanaro. I last visited this spot on 06/22/1980 during my 27th running race with the Giovane Monregalese Sports Group, under coach Pina Torello. I placed 12th out of 88, earning a lovely 28mm silver medal. We reach Castellino Tanaro (598m elevation) after a 27km journey by 14:40. We enjoy the 32-meter medieval tower and its well-maintained park with stunning views! We then head to the Monte district, the town's upper area at nearly 700m elevation.

The view has improved, offering a full 360-degree panorama. We continue on SP115 to arrive at the Church of Madonna della Neve, featuring frescoes from 1654 and a stone clock tower, likely an old strategic medieval watchtower. The motorcycle display reads 200km exactly, with an outside temperature of 31 degrees at 3:50 PM. Moving onwards on SP115, we reach Igliano, pausing briefly for photos at the Town Hall and exploring the wood museum. In the square, there's a beautiful medieval tower beside the church. After 14 years, the Garmin Nuvi 200 navigator is back in action and guides us without fail to Marsaglia, though we continue straight. We have a meeting in Carassone at Ugo Brignone's home to see how he mounts his cameras on the Transalp, the previous 2023 version. We make a quick stop and then head home, arriving at 5:10 PM after covering 74 km, with a top speed of 105km per hour.

Photos will be shared to remember this wonderful afternoon.

See you tomorrow....
