EasyLog offer an update service for your manager database, so that your QSL info will be always up-tp-date. This document explain how to download and install the manager updates in EasyLog.

Free monthly updates

This service provides a FREE manager update monthly. All users can access this service even if their access to the User Reserved Area has expired.

Weekly updates

A weekly update of the MANAGER database is available in the User Reserved Area for those whose support and access to the User Reserved Area is still current.

Installing updates

We have developed three different update installation modes, two with archive replacement and one that only adds the new managers to the existing archive. Choose the mode that suits you best according to your habits and confidence in using the computer.

Option 1: Manual installation (for expert users only)

Manual installation means to manual overwrite the manager database with the latest version downloaded from our web site. Please consider that in this way you will loose any managers you have added to the database. If you did not add any managers or you do not mind losing them, you can proceed without any problem. The latest update contains virtually all the new managers published up to the moment the update was released.

  1. Close EasyLog before starting the update procedure
  2. Download the latest manager database clicking the following link: download the latest MANAGER update
  3. Unzip the MANAGER.ZIP file in MANAGER.DBF and copy it into the \EL5\MANAGER folder overwriting the old file.
  4. Delete the \EL5\MANAGER\MANAGER.MDX file (the index file, that will be rebuilt at the next launch of EasyLog)
  5. The manager database is now up-to-date and you can launch EasyLog again.

Option 2: Use the Autoinstaller

Instead of manually installing the manager database, you can download the automatic installer that will put the MANAGER.DBF in the correct folder and will also automatically delete the MANAGER.MDX index file. The index file will be re-created as soon as you open EasyLog.

Please note that installing the manager database with the auto installer is equivalent to the manual replacement as explained in the Manual installation section above and you will lose any managers that you have added.

Option 3: Importing the last manager update

This last option allows the import of new managers without replacement, only the new managers will be added to the archive without losing those you may have inserted yourself previously.

  1. Close EasyLog before starting the update procedure
  2. Download the latest manager database clicking the following link: download the latest MANAGER update
  3. Unzip the MANAGER.ZIP file in MANAGER.DBF and copy it into a temporary folder of your PC.
  4. Enter the Manager section (by clicking the Manager button on the lowest part of EasyLog main window) and select Import Manager from the Import menu. Select the folder where you downloaded and unzipped the new manager.dbf (see step 3 above) and start importing the manager database.
  5. At the end of the process the manager database will be up-to-date and you can launch EasyLog again.
